The facts are what they are. One only needs to view this chart to realize
the policies of the conservative movement are destroying our nation. Under conservative rule we have seen our
manufacturing prowess eviscerated, our stature in the world obliterate, and our
standard of living spiraling toward another Great Depression. With a national debt closing in on 9.3
trillion and a trade deficit pushing 800 billion we are virtually defenseless
against more job loss and economic disaster.
How did we get here? We have
allowed corporate special interests to run our government and enact policies
that benefit a handful at the expense of the multitude. Today our government is in the process of
borrowing 157 billion dollars, most likely from the likes of China, so we can be
as irresponsible as the conservatives who have brought us massive deficits and
enormous debt, Instead of encouraging
our citizens to continue to be irresponsible by handing out loans in the hopes
we will spent like conservatives. We should be investing in our nations
infrastructure. We should be building
roads and bridges, schools and hospitals, as well as funding head start
programs, more generous unemployment and welfare programs, making sure college
is affordable and health care in guaranteed.
There are so many better ways to “prime the pump” then hoping consumers
will be irresponsible and squander whatever loan they are handed.
